Good Medicine provides attendees the opportunity to learn about and experience various healing practices and natural therapies. Licensed practitioners and therapists immerse participants in a hands-on experience of their work while experts present educational sessions on each modality.
We encourage you to arrive early. Treatments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Appointments fill up fast.

| Massage |
There are a variety of modalities within this field, such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Structural Integration,
Cranio-Sacral, Lomi-Lomi, Reflexology and Shiatsu. The benefits of massage have been understood and cultivated for thousands
of years, and include increased immune function, improved range of motion, peace of mind, stress reduction,
and speedy recovery from injuries.
An effective massage is more than technique. An effective massage involves conscious
embodiment, bringing the patient and practitioner out of their heads and into their bodies in a smooth and fluid manner.
Massage
has been shown to improve brain function, and increase reaction ability while reducing reactivity. This makes for better parenthood,
performance at the office, and elevated function in life at large. |
| Acupuncture |
| Acupuncture is an integral and respected part of the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves placing slender needles in key points along the body's energetic meridians to regulate the flow of electricity through the body, balancing the mind while notifying the basic and advanced systems of operation. |
| Chiropractic |
| Just as there are many forms of massage, there are many forms of chiropractic care. All of them, however, are rooted in spinal health, facilitating effective communication between the brain and the rest of the body. |

| These are forms of moving meditation, and are highly effective in cultivation and circulation of life-force energy while unifying the breath with the body. Having a trained guide or teacher is helpful, as proper form makes all the difference in the world between a decent session and a phenomenal session, though once you're acquainted with the movement, it becomes a great personal practice |
| Hypnotherapy |
Many parlor tricks have masked the true intention of this practice. Though dancing around the room like a chicken on fire, unaware at the snap of the fingers of previous behavior is wildly entertaining, it doesn't scratch the surface of the power of Hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy works through the media of words and behavior using a variety of modalities: direct suggestion, guided imagery, metaphor, affirmation, and behavior change assignments, to name a few. Repetition is the key to the effectiveness of any method.
The benefits of Hypnosis are: the ability to create empowerment over old patterns, habits, fears or phobias, triggers, or limiting beliefs. With the hypnotherapist as a facilitator, you create an entirely new approach to life, rooted deep in the psyche, where all behavior is born. |
| Sound Healing |
Research from Fabien Maman (www.tama-do.com) has proven that 'disease' begins as distortions or blockages in the faster than light subtle bodies around the physical body. This can be thought of as a misalignment of energy. The muscles and organs can contain memories of past stressful situations, and these energetic patterns may manifest as disease if they are not cleared or released. Vibrational Healing modalities and therapeutic movement clear the blocked energy in the mental, emotional and physical energetic structures and thereby address the body in a holistic manner. This powerful combination can directly access these memories and other energy blockages in the cells of organs and muscles. | Crystal Therapy |
A crystal is a mineral that is nearly transparent and colorless or has a particularly quartz crystals such as amethyst or clear quartz, contain
energy that enhances healing of both body and mind. They believe that
crystals can be "charged" with this healing energy, in a manner similar
to the charging of a flashlight battery. The charged crystal can then be
used to alter the energy patterns in the person receiving treatment.
Crystals, gem stones, and healing stones are beneficial for ill children
and adults not only because of their healing energy but because of their
beauty and tactile smoothness. Many novelty shops sell flat indented
smooth stones, called "worry stones," that help instill as sense of
peacefulness when rubbed.

| Nutrition |
Nutrition (also called nourishment or aliment) is the provision, to cells and organisms, of the materials necessary (in the form of food) to support life. Many common health problems can be prevented or alleviated with good nutrition.
The diet of an organism refers to what it eats. Dietitians are health professionals who specialize in human nutrition, meal planning, economics, preparation, and so on. They are trained to provide safe, evidence-based dietary advice and management to individuals (in health and disease), as well as to institutions.
Poor diet can have an injurious impact on health, causing deficiency diseases such as scurvy, beriberi, and kwashiorkor; health-threatening conditions like obesity and metabolic syndrome, and such common chronic systemic diseases as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

| Biorhythm |
The theory of biorhythms claims that one's life is affected by rhythmic biological cycles, and seeks to make predictions regarding these cycles and the personal ease of carrying out tasks related to the cycles. These inherent rhythms are said to control or initiate various biological processes and are classically composed of three cyclic rhythms that are said to govern human behavior and demonstrate innate periodicity in natural physiological change: the physical, the emotional, and the intellectual (or mental) cycles. Others claim there are additional rhythms, some of which may be combinations of the three primary cycles. Some proponents think that biorhythms may be potentially related to bioelectricity and its interactions in the body.

| Light Therapy |
Light therapy or phototherapy consists of exposure to daylight or to specific wavelengths of light using lasers, LEDs, fluorescent lamps, dichroic lamps or very bright, full-spectrum light, for a prescribed amount of time and, in some cases, at a specific time of day. It has proven effective in treating Acne vulgaris, seasonal affective disorder, and is part of the standard treatment regimen for delayed sleep phase syndrome. It has recently been shown effective in non-seasonal depression. Proponents claim demonstrable benefits for skin conditions such as psoriasis.

| Ayurveda |
Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient Hindu system of health care that is native to the Indian subcontinent. It is used by millions of people in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and increasingly in the west. The word "Ayurveda" is a tatpurusha compound of the word ayus meaning "life," "life principle," or "long life" and the word veda, which refers to a system of "knowledge." Thus "Ayurveda" roughly translates as the "knowledge of life" or "knowledge of a long life". According to Charaka Samhita, "life" itself is defined as the "combination of the body, sense organs, mind and soul, the factor responsible for preventing decay and death, which sustains the body over time, and guides the processes of rebirth." According to this perspective, Ayurveda is concerned with measures to protect "ayus", which includes healthy living along with therapeutic measures that relate to physical, mental, social and spiritual harmony. Ayurveda is also one among the few traditional systems of medicine to contain a sophisticated system of surgery (which is referred to as "salya-chikitsa").

| Homeopathy |
This system of medicine is based on observations of a physiologic fact: 'the same things which cause a disease cure it.' Homeopathy uses extremely diluted safe natural substances to stimulate body's normal physiology to combat dis-ease.
Homeopathic treatment is individualized and effects patients on the physical, mental & emotional levels. It takes into account the etiologies, physical & functional signs, general behavior & feelings, sensitivity & modalities of the dis-ease. |
| Osteopathy |
An alternative medicine based on the principle that body has self-regulating and self-healing capabilities. An osteopath is a medical doctor who emphasizes on a wholistic medical approach, recognizing the importance of a properly functioning musculoskeletal system for the total well-being of the individual.
Osteopathy is not only about proper posture, but the ease with which blood, lymphatics, hormones, and the electrical impulses in the brain and spinal system flow. Obviously, less impedance in flow enables a higher functioning organism. Osteopathy is a hands-on modality which indirectly restores normal functioning of the body and encourages health. |
| Craniosacral |
Craniosacral therapy (also called CST, cranial osteopathy, also spelled CranioSacral bodywork or therapy) is a method of Complementary and alternative medicine used by physical therapists, massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors and osteopaths. A craniosacral therapy session involves the therapist placing their hands on the patient, which they state allows them to tune into what they call the craniosacral system. By gently working with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia, the restrictions of nerve passages are said to be eased, the movement of CSF through the spinal cord can be optimized, and misaligned bones are said to be restored to their proper position. Craniosacral therapists use the therapy to treat mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome, and for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.

| Bowen Therapy |
The Bowen Technique is one version of a group of technical interpretations of the work of Australian self-proclaimed osteopath Tom Bowen (1916-1982) known as Bowen Therapy, which is a holistic system of healing. The Bowen Technique was limited to Australia until 1986, when it was named, and introduced to other countries by Oswald Rentsch, who observed Bowen at work one morning a week for two years.
The Bowen Technique involves a gentle, rolling motion, with very light touches. The rolls are supposed to either tighten or loosen off muscles depending on the way the move is done.
The practitioner will stimulate sets of points, often with two minute pauses, supposedly to allow the body to use the move and integrate it into the body's system. The Bowen Technique is not a form of massage, though it does claim to release areas of built-up stress in the muscles, and clients describe experiences of profound relaxation after a session, often falling asleep after the first few moves.

Kidz Korner with GiGi
Gigi will be hosting the Kid's Area at the Good Medicine Wellness Festival. Gigi is a certified Reiki Master/Teacher, Artist and Horseback Riding Instructor. She has performed at and organized wondrous children's events at many Earth day celebrations, Eco Fests and Private Parties. Complete with her magical wand, wishing bowl, puppets and crystal mirrors, she entertains and educates children on how to honour mother earth and the animals. Gigi will show the kids how to see fairies in flowers, and connect with the essence of trees and crystals. She will guide children on an inner journey to discover their inner light and healing abilities. The kids will make wishes and give blessings to each other. We will pray for world peace, create our own soul mandalas and dance to the music!
Gigi brings laughter, silliness, and magic to children. She helps them to feel safe, open and natural in their bodies.
In this high tech modern world, it is more important than ever to connect with the healing spirit of nature.

Movement and breath in meditation—the path to inner silence. HSIN TAO is an extremely powerful self-healing and regenerative technique practiced secretly inside the Shaolin Monastery of China until the Cultural Revolution.

Ratziel Bander began practicing Hatha Yoga and meditation at the age of fourteen in Sydney, Australia. By the age of twenty, Ratziel was working with actors and dancers in Australia and in countries around Europe, including England, Italy, Spain and Germany. He taught dancers corrective exercises, and instructed actors in movement and breath.
In 1994, Ratziel took a spiritual retreat for six years in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney Australia. He used Hsin Tao to recover from severe Post-Polio Syndrome, and is one of the first laypersons to receive this technique, transmitted from an exalted Chinese Lineage that desired the release of these teachings to the world. In 2001, he was graciously given permission to begin teaching this method and was asked to bring it to the United States and the world.
Ratziel is the only authorized Master teacher of Hsin Tao in the West, having received transmission from an exalted Chinese Lineage that desired the release of these teachings to the world. Ratziel will accredit more teachers in the years to come, with a view to maintaining the integrity of the original techniques.

Arnoux (are-know) Goran is a health consultant, renown international speaker, and the creator of "Total Health Mastery, The 7-Steps to Reprogramming Yourself and How to Overcome Addictions Without Willpower". He is the author of the seven-book series Loving Health, Loving Feeling and audio/video set The Total Health Mastery 10-Week Transformation Program. He is dedicated to the uplifting of humanity, the fulfillment of human potential, and creating Heaven on Earth.
Mr. Goran earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Washington. Then, while studying pre-med courses at U of W, he tutored at Edmonds College, for which he earned honors. Arnoux is black belt in Martial Arts and became an instructor under the tutelage of Won Kim, son of Bok Man Kim, co-founder of Tae Kwon Do. He went on to assist in opening several successful Martial Arts Gymnasiums.
After turning down acceptance at top Naturopathic Mecical School, Bastyr University, due to several compound illnesses and near death, Arnoux became passionate about health. Through the guidance of God and many answered prayers, study, courses, and self-diagnostic treatments Arnoux completely recovered from chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis, ulcers, hemorrhoids, anemia, hypoglycemia, and depression within six months. He has spent years researching the effects of food, supplements, emotions, thoughts and the body's overall functioning.
A Reiki master and certified gourmet raw food chef, Arnoux has been exploring human design and transformation for over a decade and has coached numerous people to achieve self-mastery. Arnoux currently leads seminars, consults and offers presentations.

Dr. Karlin began her studies with a degree in psychology from Rutgers University. Her research was published in the American Journal of Psychology for work on the effects of stress on decision-making skills. Motivated by her foundation in psychology, Dr. Karlin worked as a Youth Development Counselor in a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. Her belief in overall health and the connection between health and the environment led to her work as a Greenpeace Assistant Director, an experience that strengthened her resolve to enter the healthcare profession. Dr. Karlin attained her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, and a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, California. She is a board certified national diplomat in acupuncture and a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist. To emphasize integration of the physical, energetic and emotional planes of health, Dr. Karlin achieved a certification in Neuro Emotional Technique.
Dr. Karlin is in her eighth year of practice as a family healthcare practitioner. She works with her patient’s established medical care to create an integrated multidisciplinary network which provides her patients with a complementary and comprehensive treatment protocol. Utilizing and blending both Western and Eastern systems of healing, demonstrates her commitment to achieving more than just the absence of disease, but optimal wellness for all her patients through an effective holistic treatment.

Ratziel Bander began practicing Hatha Yoga and meditation at the age of fourteen in Sydney, Australia. By the age of twenty, Ratziel was working with actors and dancers in Australia and in countries around Europe, including England, Italy, Spain and Germany. He taught dancers corrective exercises, and instructed actors in movement and breath.
In 1994, Ratziel took a spiritual retreat for six years in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney Australia. He used Hsin Tao to recover from severe Post-Polio Syndrome, and is one of the first laypersons to receive this technique, transmitted from an exalted Chinese Lineage that desired the release of these teachings to the world. In 2001, he was graciously given permission to begin teaching this method and was asked to bring it to the United States and the world.
Ratziel is the only authorized Master teacher of Hsin Tao in the West, having received transmission from an exalted Chinese Lineage that desired the release of these teachings to the world. Ratziel will accredit more teachers in the years to come, with a view to maintaining the integrity of the original techniques.

Arnoux (are-know) Goran is a health consultant, renown international speaker, and the creator of "Total Health Mastery, The 7-Steps to Reprogramming Yourself and How to Overcome Addictions Without Willpower". Tai Chi
Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese moving meditation based on the ancient wisdom of the Tao (the natural balance and eternal change of the universe; commonly represented by the Yin-Yang). Tai Chi works to balance and harmonize all of the energy channels (meridians) in the human body. Tai Chi movements are preformed slowly and mindfully. They are imbued with grace, precision, and fluidity. Humans often resist change in their life, bringing forth much suffering, clinging, and dis-ease.
Tai Chi is the pathway of least resistance; it allows us to accept eternal change as the only constant. As one practices the movement form, it becomes integrated into their Being and reflects into their daily life as weathering emotional storms becomes much more effortless and smooth, risk of muscular and joint based injuries is greatly reduced, and appreciation for all life is magnetized. Tai Chi allows one to become more aware of the Tao in their everyday life.

Jesse Hanson is a Holistic Health Practitioner. He works deeply with individuals and groups on their own, unique spiritual paths. Jesse has been teaching Sacred Movement based on empowering individuals to recognize and utilize their innate healing abilities. He has been teaching for over six years between San Diego and Los Angeles at a variety of Yoga Studios and outdoor locations (including Golden Bridge Yoga and Yogamates Studio). He has a deep appreciation for the sacred treasures in life and is honored to hold space for others to evolve and transform into their highest potential.

Yoga
Psalm is known for a deep and fiery style of teaching with fierce compassion for the individual’s growth and connection to the Divine. She dives into the physical, mental and emotional layers with great faith in the student’s capacity for healing, transformation and empowerment. The main theme of her work is surrender; releasing the blockages that restrict the flow of purpose, power and compassion that come from the natural state of union with the Infinite. She teaches a traditional and complete style of tantra hatha yoga, which incorporates physical postures, breath work, visualization, meditation and sound to create empowerment programs for the individuals needs. She began her teaching practice with service, teaching at risk youth.

Psalm got her unusual name growing up on a spiritual commune in northern California. She has travelled and studied in India where she was initiated into Sri Vidya by her guru, Sri Amritananda. She completed her first teacher training with Saul David Raye, and had a mentorship with Nzazi Malonga. She has had continuing studies in Bihar Yoga with Yogiraj Swami Samarpanananda Saraswati. She teaches in the U.S. and India with the blessings of her guru.

A fun introductory exploration of qi and energy cultivation practice with Dancing Star Qi Gong. We will explore the inner world of qi and life force with the ancient Taoist art of qi gong, or energy cultivation, through the power of breath awareness. Dancing Star Qi Gong is a series of eight postures that channel energy through the chakras and meridians, balancing and strengthening our musculo-skeletal alignment, releasing stress and muscle tension, calming the mind, and building the lightbody or Merkaba field. In a relaxed, alert state, we will use visualizations to direct energy through the body and aura, freeing blockages, enhancing overall well being and heart connection to Source Energy.
